Happy New Year & Pre-Order for An Enrapturing Attraction

Hi there and a Happy New Year to you all.

I hope 2014 was a good one for you. If so, long may it continue in 2015, if not I hope this coming year is even better for you.

I'm extremely pleased to announce that An Enrapturing Attraction is now available for pre-order from Amazon.

Synopsis

“A hot and suspenseful story of a bad boy who is wanting to make good with a chance meeting between him and one strong, independent woman.

Christian Wilson reformed bad boy is released early from the Boston correctional facility, due to flaws in the original court case. Re-entering the big, wide world is not only a shock to the system, but he also realises he isn’t the man he was. Tough decisions need to be made and temptations to revert back to how he was need to be resisted. It’s not only he who is thinking this, so when his step-father Edward Sanders intervenes, Christian’s life is turned upside down. Being the ‘Black Sheep’ of the Sanders dynasty he has to prove to them and himself, he’s a changed man. Coming second best to his step-brother Marc Sanders, Professor of Medicine, gives him enough determination to want to succeed.
Having moved to the US from the UK, Hannah Marshall has shown and proven what a strong, independent woman she is and she’s not had to rely on any man. However, family comes first and therefore Hannah takes the big decision to return home to Cambridge in England. Accepting a new job in The Met Police and leaving close friends behind, she begins what is a new life not without it’s ups, downs and surprises!
With Christian and Hannah not everything is as black and white as they seem, but when the two meet sparks fly!
Will secrets and lies come between them? Will the temptations in life become too strong? What the future holds for these two passionate and strong willed people, nobody knows.
From Amazon Number One Best Seller A J Walters, let An Enrapturing Attraction take you on an emotion filled journey of scintillating passion and mystery. A contemporary romance not without it’s laughs!”

New poem- Whoooooooaa! 50 Shades!

Hi there. Hope you're all doing okay.

It's Friday Eve here and only 6 more 'official' get ups before I break up for Christmas (Get in there)!

I am getting excited about Christmas, as this time 18 years ago, I looked even bigger than I do now (not that it's possible) due to expecting my first born on Christmas Day!!

However...Not only am I excited about celebrating both Christmas & my sons birth (God, I feel old!), I am also excited about the release of An Enrapturing Attraction. Christian Wilson, rocks!!!!

On top of that I'm also looking forward to the release of the 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' film. To celebrate it, I wrote a poem about one of its most famous scenes....guess which one?

I'll have a scotch tonight and start the editing tomorrow

I didn't think I'd see these words this weekend, but it all feels so right.

Well today it happened. I said a final goodbye to four, five, six...special characters in my life. Two of them were the beginning of my writing, I wouldn't say career, but love for writing.

Yes, as daft as it may sound Isabel Chambers & Marc Sanders are my 'fictional babies'! And I have to say, I have lived a lifetime through them. I've loved, I've laughed...I've swooned & I've shouted. More importantly though, I have lived! Being a single mother, I craved for something that I wanted to do for myself, but still be there for my boys...these books were it. The new characters you'll be introduced to in An Enrapturing Attraction are an extension to everything. My writing, the story and the remarkable journey (I don't like to over use the word, but it's now an enjoyable one) I've taken since those terrible couple years I experienced.

Less than eighteen months later, I've told a story that I've built on. I'm an indie author who started off writing a blog! I had no money for editors and certainly had no idea what I was doing when it came to self-publishing (I still don't!), but I hope that when readers read An Enrapturing Attraction, they can see I've developed and come on a bit from the first book.

Along my this period I've made some fantastic friends, some lifelong ones. All of which I care for tremendously.

So today maybe an end to a series...But it is also a new beginning.

A proper blog post...Go me!

Before I was an author, I was a reader.

I'll admit that in between the ages 22 & 36/37, I didn't read as much as I'd like due to having a family & commitments. I think back to a holiday I had with my folks at the age of 16 and buying Silence Of The Lambs & two other novels at the airport, to read on my fortnight away.

It's only the last few years that I've really got back into it....I've read some tremendous books including Gabriel's Inferno & Gabriel's Rapture by Sylvain Reynard. I was among the numerous of fans waiting in anticipation of a third book, but was left disappointed. However, I am looking forward to his book, The Raven. It's a new book & series.

I've read reviews of Sylvia Day's, Captivated By You and there are quite a few disappointed in it. I have read The Crossfire Series, but not this one as yet & also Sylvia's historical novels (which I love).

I'm 'Umming' and 'ahhing' as to get it. Not only because of the reviews, but I'd like to read & give so many other authors a chance...especially Indie Authors. I'm not saying all authors don't write from the heart, but....Oh my gosh! I hope you see where I'm coming from. I'll hold my hands up & say I didn't put what I have done into An Enrapturing Attraction & what I did do with An Acute Attraction into A Constant Attraction. I'm not saying my heart wasn't in it, but I felt the pressure....

Is this what Sylvia has had to deal with? Pressure on delivering? I don't know. It's not down to me to say.

All I can say is, when it comes to me...I'm living by how I started off. I love to write & not write to live.

New teaser - An Enrapturing Attraction...the anticipation is growing

"Breathing in sharply and exhaling slowly, I know I cannot hold her any more. I know in my heart of hearts, really deep down, I was born bad and made the conscious decision to stay bad. Out of rebellion? Maybe. Or was I bored? Hell, it could have been because I got a thrill out of it. I can't decide; it probably was all three." - Christian Wilson, An Enrapturing Attraction (A J Walters 2014)

Poetry Challenge

I was set a challenge on Facebook, by a follower to compose a poem to go with a picture she sent posted to me. So anyway, here it is.....

Switch

Lace topped stockings
Black binds of silk
Laid out, prepared
Since the night he dared

“I'm yours to control”
Were the words he said
A role in my dreams
Ripping at the seams

Days of planning
Anticipation at a high
The moment has come
Watch him come undone

Heels at the ready
The atmosphere is set
His body lying bare
Shoulders strong and square

Tonight he's all mine
And I am the Dom
I wasn't coerced
Into roles being reversed

Poem - Fire

A tongue of fire
Is all it took
Smouldering licks
And my body shook
Lapping, tasting
Nearing there
The place I need him
Naked, bare
Increasing heat
Is felt below
A cherished gift
Doth bestow
A blaze of passion
Roars aloud
Flames then doused
With a body, a shroud

New Poem - Thirst

Wine touches lips
As hands reach for hips
Pulling her close
Needing to overdose
Tantalising, she sips
At her ear he nips
Hungry, needing more
Liquids flow, out pour
A glass of red
That leads to the bed
A fruity dry white
We'd go through the night
Whatever we drank
However you spank
A night full of lust
It is surely a must

It's that time of the year...18 years ago today!

I'm not going to go all religious on you...that's what my initial reaction to this post is, but actually, I am Christian and live in a Christian country so shouldn't be afraid in posting this....HOWEVER, my post isn't about religious beliefs, but personal beliefs.

It will be 17 years, 1 month & 13 days till I'll celebrate the birth of my eldest child. Yes, my son will be 18 years old on Christmas Day 2014 & the lead up to giving birth to him, as well as the actual birth is a moment in my life I'll never, ever forget.

Despite me being Catholic, I was a single mother as the father of my child left me when I was 8 weeks pregnant. No way on this earth was I ever going to give him up. I had been given ultimatums by the father & even told of ways to get rid of my unborn child by an employer (as he didn't believe in single mothers), but no! I knew this baby meant everything to me.

I gave up my job because of not only the lack of support of my employer, but also because of the poor pay I was on. To this day, I never regretted any of it.

I lived with my parents at home and this time 18 years ago, I'd go to work with my mum (who worked nights in a nursing home) and slept on a chair, just in case I went into birth. I think it was also a comfort to both of us...The memories I have of trying to sleep in what was a an uncomfortable seat, but I had my mother with me, will be with me forever....

Isabel, my main female character in An Acute Attraction is also a single mother....

This will be continued......

Where's the time gone?

Hi all.

I hope you've had a wonderful summer. Autumn has well and truly kicked in here in the UK, it's lovely! The new school year started, so I'm back into full swing as regards that as well.

As you can see above, there's been a new addition to the line up of remarkable book covers for The Attraction Series!

I was extrememly excited to reveal the book cover to book three of the series, A Constant Attraction, which was yet again drawn by my incredibly talented younger brother John Walters.

It's had a fabulous response, as had the book itself.

Synopsis:

A hot and suspenseful story of a bad boy who is wanting to make good with a chance meeting between him and one strong, independent woman.
Christian Wilson reformed bad boy is released early from the Boston correctional facility, due to flaws in the original court case. Having moved to the US from the UK, Hannah Marshall has shown and proven what a strong, independent woman she is and she’s not had to rely on any man. Scheduled release: Mid- late January 2015

I've been really excited about writing new characters Christian and Hannah, but my heart was all their when Marc and Isabel came into game as well. Even though this is the third book of the series, this book can be seen as a stand alone.

Excerpt:

“Your forfeit for you losing Miss Marshall is that you are to kiss, no snog the face off the next man who comes through those pub doors.” Every single one of our party, including me, turn to face the dreaded doors. The feeling of expectation has just trebled and shot through the roof.
“You’re joking, right? What if it’s an eighteen year-old student? My job would be on the line or even worse, I’d be classed as a cougar!” My voice ends on a shrill as the realisation of what I’ve got to do sinks in.
“Come on Marshall, I’m sure your forfeit for me had I lost would have been far worse.” Actually he’s probably not wrong there. Having him rub a red-hot chili over his hands and then telling him to wank himself sounds more and more appealing. Next time Rushton, next time.
I rest my head in my hands dreading every second of this and as to who will be the next male to walk in here. Please don’t let it be some old geezer either. I groan through my fingers. The silence is deadly as the wait begins. I wish someone would bloody talk to break the drought of conversation, it may just lead to a distraction and then me not having to do it, or at least them remembering when a hot looking Professor walks in.
Actually scratch that thought, as the image of Marc Sanders is now firmly imprinted on my brain. I can hear the laughs from Isabel now, as she most probably would have read my mind. I look up when I hear an over exaggerated intake of breath come from Melissa and once again all eyes are fixed on the doorway.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” The words are out of mouth before I can even put my brain into first gear.

Lest We Forget...A New Poem.

Forever a Memory.

Sat next to you,
One day we asked.
What ever happened,
In years that past.
Younger we were,
With a curious mind.
Wanting to know,
Not meaning to remind.
Silently you spoke,
Of horrors only you.
Were forced to see,
And witnessed by few.
A sea of blood,
Is what you said.
Head bent down,
Many lives were shed.
Men you once knew,
Giving their life.
All leaving home,
Some leaving a wife.
You fought for us,
And came back here.
Grandad we'll remember,
You're forever near.

A rather personal poem....

I'm going to be slightly selfish on this poem, as it dedicated to my partner.

Is it his touch,
Is it his smile?
Or does it come down,
To his style?

At this moment,
I'm not sure.
But please doctor,
Give me a cure.

The way he speaks,
With such grace,
In a welsh accent,
At his pace.

He has my heart,
Does he have my soul?
We are in love,
That's surely a goal!

A clear home win,
Is all can be said.
I'm with this man,
A Jack Bastard!!!!

Poem - Departing Souls

Breathing in the air to fill our lungs,
Before we kiss and taste ones tongues.
Morning sunlight shines down bright,
Making what we had feel so right.

A cold frost greets us as we walk,
Needing the space, allowing to talk.
Time passes by and nothing is solved,
The love we had is now dissolved.

Hands once joined, now cold and bare,
We're doing this now because we care.
Holding out longer will cause more pain,
So we have to think, what will that gain.

My first love was he and now he's gone,
From the start I thought he's the one.
Feelings have changed from a single lie,
And so now is the time to say goodbye.

Author Interview - Logan Patricks

Can I please introduce you to the wonderfully enigmatic......

AJ – Hi Logan, it's really good to meet you. Thank you for taking time out to do this interview with me. *blushes and hands you a drink.

LP - Hiya AJ! Anytime! Btw, this drink tastes stronger than my usual....is this a triple vodka?

Ah! Yes, I don't like vodka, so I've given you mine as well. Anyway...

AJ – For readers and bloggers out there, could you please tell us about yourself?

I'm just a crazy guy with a wild imagination and a lot of stories to tell. I try and manhandle my word processor when my little daughter isn't manhandling me with her diapers.

*Shudders at the memories of changing nappie* Cute!

AJ – Semblance was your first book from The Midnight Society series of books and it is also the first book I have read since completing my series of books and I have to be honest with you, I was hooked! You saw some of my tweets! What got you inspired to write such a fab story?

I guess I was interested in the entire concept of deception, lies, betrayal, you know all that fun stuff you want to read about but never experience. Couldn't think of a better setting for all that to take place than in a Secret Society.

I agree

AJ – You are obviously very up on your classical music, especially piano pieces. Is this just an interest of yours or do you actually play the piano yourself?

I'm a classically trained pianist who first love is for my piano!

No way! Wow! Multi-talented guy.

AJ – You've written Semblance from Aria's (Female) POV. Was there any part of that you found difficult?

Writing sex scenes from a woman's perspective. It's kind of hard to "experience" what she's feeling.

AJ – You admit to enjoying “Creating kingdoms” in your writing. When reading the book at the beginning, I found it to be like an adult fairy tale, until the reader discovers the secrets of Shadow's past. From there it moves on to be quite a sexual, thrilling and mysterious story. Did you mean to write such a magnificent melting pot of genre's or just focus on one in the beginning?

In the beginning, the focus was always going to be a mystery or thriller. However, as the story progressed, other genres started coming into play.

They work incredibly well together.

AJ – I am going to confess, that your book is now one on a list I have, that have made me shout out loud, “No effing way!”...Thankfully it's a very short list or else I'd have been banned from public transport! Is there a book that has caused you to react in such a way?

There are several! I remember taken aback by the end to Life of Pi, and almost practically every book in George RR Martin's Game of Thrones series. That guy is a mass murderer, lol.

Hehe!!

AJ – Penumbra is the second instalment. What can we expect to see from the perfectly pleasing pen of Logan Patricks (I like my alliteration if you hadn't guessed!) in this continuation of the series?

We're going to find out more about the origins of the Midnight Society, see the relationship between Shadow, Aria, and Lincoln develop further, and as well introduce you to a whole new set of characters that will leave their mark on this series.

Squee! Exciting stuff, I can't wait!

AJ – Has your ever so exciting sounding 'day job' offered any inspiration in what you write or do you try to keep them separate?

I keep my day job completely separate from my writing life. I enjoy having the best of two different worlds.

AJ – My readers know that I suffer from 'Foot In Mouth' syndrome, that has lead to some erm!...quite embarrassing situations. Have you ever landed yourself in it? If so, would you care to share?

Indeed I have! In fact, I wrote an entire story about it on my blog. http://www.loganpatricks.com/free-stories/frozen-a-not-so-erotic-tale-involving-my-butt/

AJ – Right, are you up for a game of Top Trumps? It's been ages since I've played it.

Yup!

                                                    About this author

Logan discovered both love and heartbreak at the tender age of seven, when the pretty little blue-eyed girl next door stole his Kit-Kat bar and shared it with the bad boy from across the street. Devastated, Logan found solace by escaping into imaginary worlds he forged with words, creating kingdoms where the chivalrous knight always got the princess.

Twenty three years later Logan spends his days in a suit and tie, working for the government on matters of network security. However his thoughts never strayed too far from the incendiary nature of love — the passionate fire that’s both scintillating and dangerous. Obsessed with exploring the steamy and mysterious side of human nature, Logan continues to create worlds filled with thrills, mystery, and of course, sex.
